Late to Bed and Early to Rise

Never has work been so much fun! It’s 2:10am and I’m compelled to tell you all this…crazy.

Dan and I have been putting the final touches on the new Ste-Anne-De-Bellevue Rugby Club site for the last few weeks (see www.sabrfc.com as of Nov.19th), and are thrilled to finally have a product that is just about ready of which we are proud AND, more importantly, should serve the Rugby Club as a well designed, functional, and interactive website for years to come. Like most things, this site is something we would have loved to have completed sooner – we are actually running about 1 month late with respect to the time line we had initially proposed to the Club Executive back in February.

The goal with this site was not only to provide the Club with an excellent custom and new design, but to use it to help generate sponsorships in exchange for ad space on the site, as well as through programs such as Google AdSense. The partnership between our company and the Club we hope will be a long one, where Heelatch will provide continuous support in the years ahead and over the next few months transition its administration over to competent club members excited at the opportunity to manage and operate the most socially active non-human member of the club: the website.

We also plan to do a lot of tweaking over the coming months while we investigate and dissect the analytics taken from Google (traffic, hits, pageviews, time on site, etc..), and optimize the site to fall in line with positive trends and tendencies. In applying the results of such tests, we can take the ever-improving data and use it as fodder to solicit sponsorships from local business and alumni who will hopefully not only jump at the chance to sponsor the club because they are associated and used to play for them a long time ago – but because we have hard data that can prove the site will afford them great exposure as well as great potential ROI for their ad dollars.

Mark our words; the site will turn into a machine. It already is one, and the hope now is that it becomes an example of what a well thought out design and navigation can bring to the club in terms of sponsors/advertisers to whom we can prove without a doubt – they will see benefits. Any ideas on how you guys think we can improve on this first iteration would be greatly appreciated.

Other projects are also coming into play, and as recently as last night we met with an International Marketing Agency who are very interested in taking us on as partners and leads of their creative efforts for all things web-related. We are excited to have my brother on board who continues to generate buzz and push Heelatch’ capabilities to all who will listen. His efforts will be rewarded – first with one of our new 10$ Heelatch shirts, and then maybe a pat on the back…lol.

We’d like to thank our families for putting up with the late nights, long hours, and constant running around. Friends have also been a major factor in our success thus far (I didn’t say we were making money – but we aren’t losing anything!!!), and they too must be thanked. So thank you!!

Peace

Moe
